When buyers ask me about PEG-40 and PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, I explain that both products are excellent solubilizers derived from hydrogenated castor oil, but they are designed for slightly different applications.
PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil is widely used in shampoos, body washes, fragrances, and personal care products. It offers excellent solubilizing performance and is a cost-effective choice for many formulations.
PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil contains a higher level of ethoxylation, making it more water-soluble than PEG-40. As a result, it is often preferred in micellar water, facial toners, transparent shampoos, and premium skincare products where clarity is important.
In simple terms, if your formulation requires good performance at an economical cost, PEG-40 is often the preferred option. If higher clarity and water solubility are required, PEG-60 is generally the better choice.
At The Patel Brothers, we supply various castor oil derivatives and help customers select the most suitable grade for their application.
